Washington/Oregon Liability Update for A/Es

A/E's face numerous liability and insurance challenges. Staying current in liability issues allows design professionals to stay ahead of the curve in business practices, including contract negotiation, risk allocation, increasing revenues and insurance risk.
Programs are co-presented by a leading attorney/broker team who will cover recent state law developments to be addressed in business practices.
a. Attendees will learn to explain different types of limitations of liability (LOL) available and justify clauses to clients using negotiation techniques outlined in program.
b. Explain to clients why limitations of liability and insurable indemnity clauses are also in the best interest of the client.
c. Learn about state statutes and recent cases which affect A/E liability and business practices.
d. Participate in case studies which address challenging client liability or contracting issues.
e. Learn about future trends in A/E liability and insurance and what A/E's can do in response.
Skills and Knowledge
Skills and knowledge include understanding about the different types of limitations of liability in conjunction with indemnity and defense clauses in construction contracts to mitigate owner demands for broad clauses from the A/E; share experiences with presenter, expert panel members and participants on negotiation strategies proven successful in improving clauses; learn how to deal with difficult client contracts; learn successful negotiation strategies from presenters and discussion panel members.
